I think Nissan Motor Co. should have kept the Datsun name in US anyway.

    as an owner of a '77 280 Z and a '78 620 (and hopefully a 510 soon).

I hope they NEVER bring the Datsun name back to north america, unless they start building cheap RWD cars again.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Don't see how they are gonna get away without equipping them with airbags in today's day and age. But I will love to see the day where you can buy a new car between 3,000-5,000 dollars again.

I own a Datsun 280zx 81' Standard! I love it it still runs but needs an overhaul. Its my dads old sport car and is just sitting around for a day when i have enough money for it. I think Nissan actually brough back the Datsun in a way if you think about the 350z and 370z

I'd be excited to see them make a comeback. I've never been around any, but they look like cool little pickups and the 240z's look sweet.

They're not(they list the countries in the article that will get these cars), and they wouldn't be anywhere near 3-5k in the US.

Yeah that sounds super cheap! If they sold a typical Datsun 280zx for 4K they would sell out like Iphones!! images_b3d04748b31c8055261cab372291cbd2f09cc9c6.jpg

Dang that sucks. I'd probably consider buying one for a backup car or something for good gas mileage if they had them that cheap here.
