Found it. Toyota did a nice job putting it where it is hard to see and get at. Need small hands to plug it in.

Yeh, it took me hours to find it on my 2012. It was actually tucked into a hole in the body way up under the dash over the parking brake. It was crazy!

Listed on the sticker with the tow package it says trailer sway control What exactly does this mean? My trailer has a friction sway control device but is there something on the truck that controls sway?

I think it's an electronic sway control built into the drivetrain. Not exactly sure tho. It may even do something with the truck brakes

Thanks I did some research and found some online information. You are correct it is something electrically controlled in the brake system. We will see how it works when I hitch the trailer for the first time.

Its part of the vehicle stability control (brakes and engine power regulation). It will sense a sway with the truck's accelerometer and apply the brakes to create an opposing sway to cancel out the trailer's sway.

Quick question ... is the plug white, I'm assuming?

I've put in my obligatory hour of looking for it and am about to go crazy. Knuckles bruised and back can't take any more tonight. Will look later for it. That's one frustrating plug to find.

Yes, It's white. It's taped behind a bundle of wires against the driverside fender kinda above and to the rear of the emergency brake. You can't reach it with your whole hand, but you can get a finger back there. Once you pop it loose, it has about 6" of slack to work with

Thanks much, I think I see it, but can't really get to it ... it is taped very tight to the big main bundle (it's taped at around 10 o'clock if 12 is the front of the truck). It's like Toyota TRIED to hide it from us at that position.

It's odd because I know I worked around that bundle but never saw it. Once I get my pigtail, I'll get it plugged in.

    Thanks for the reply.

P.S. This video may be somewhat helpful to others that I found on Youtube (plug location starts somewhat at 0:58) ... mine was NOWHERE that obvious:
