Does anyone know what will fit in the rear doors? I was talking to an adviser at crutchfield and they told me the DXi650 wont fit but the shallow version might does anyone know if this is right or can you get bigger speakers in the rear doors?

Hi all. I replaced the factory speakers in the front doors. What a difference! I was going to replace the flat headliner speakers as well with some rear door speakers, but after listening to the new front ones installed, I decided not to. Again: what a difference! I took a few pics:

I'm not sure if this worked. I will try to figure out how to post pictures then try again.

Okay, the picture came up. Hopefully I can make them bigger.

    The old speaker.

    The factory speaker is terrible.

I cut the middle out and put the new speaker inside. I soldered the wires to the factory conector, so it will plug in as before.

    Here is the finished product.

You will have to cut this out.
The magnets are about 3/4" from the glass when rolled down. On a side note: I fixed my other complaint of the truck. The road noise is really bad on the access cab. It seemed to be coming from the wall under the back window. I took out the back wall panel and added some hushmat. It helped a lot.

Before- tin sounding (cheap of Toyota)

Looks like a nice clean job, Joker. I'll keep that pic of the rear dynamat in mind for mine.

I had Polk DB's in a system I had back in the day, they handled big wattage and they sounded great. I sold them on eBay for almost what I payed for them years later.

I have All 5 channels of Polk speakers for my home theater. The front L-R channels are a pair of Monitor 60's Bi-Amped 220 watts per channel, I use for listening to music. Hands down best sounding speakers I've ever heard.

I'd say you can't go wrong with anything Polk
