Thanks for the great info. I'm replacing all the exterior bulbs on my truck with LED's thanks to this post. All except the signal bulbs. Still doing research on my DTRL equipped truck to prevent the hyper signalling.

Here's an interior pic to compare cool white LED with stock filament 168 wedge bulb. The LED cool white is a bit harsh at first; does give better light to find things, reading etc. but overall I find the warm white easier on the eyes. (my opinion, and I still kept the LED install) The LED is the 5 surface mount (SMT) LED style.

hope this helps for someone debating if they should change out the interior lights.

Any pics of the front marker lights with LEDs other than that blue setup?

Do they get any brighter than that?

168 series amber LED, 5 LED bulb, DRL/Signal light is stock filament bulb.
the LED marker light is slightly more amber/orange than daytime running light.
I don't have pic of original as they were burnt out. Overall I am pleased with the LED amber marker.

LED Taillight install. Overall result of the LED conversion is a more distinct red color, and a much brighter brake light. Install was as easy as a mod can get.
Test light before closing it up to ensure the polarity is correct.

pics are for comparison; truck was winter dirty at the time.
Driver's side is LED, passenger is OEM bulb. longer length of LED bulb was not a problem.

PM csjumper2003 for a different kind of led called "Cree" that is much brighter and more reliable than these smd lights everyone is trying to sell you. Just one Cree led will beat all these 100+ smd tubes out there--just Google it. Csjumper2003 already has the right sizes for tacoma internal, external, under hood (with pod and switch), etc. and his prices are fair. Not trying to hijack a thread or advertise, don't personally know the guy, just know that many have had good experiences with him and he comes highly recommended. I wouldn't go any other way but cree. Good luck with your lights folks.
