If you like the scope and it's a pinned front sight you might consider shaving it. A pinned front sight makes a perfect low profile gas block. then you can either run it without sights or install a free float tube and then bolt on some flip-ups.

ARs are funny that way. They just keep shooting holes in your wallet.

Buy a new AR with rails then mount a flip up front and rear sight..I hate fixed mounted, not enough options....and thats the important thing....what I like...:lalala:

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=WEAVER+RAIL+RISER+SEE+THROUGH+SCOPE+MOUNT+BASE+ELEVATED+

    So how it works is:
    1) Type in Yahoo.com or Google.com into the little bar at the top of your browser
    2) Hit enter
    3) Then in the area that above or next to search type in "Elevated optic mount for an AR"
    4) Hit enter

You could shave the FSB and install a Troy rail (or whatever you like)

But really, you won't see the FSB through the scope.

Aimpoint Comp M4....he's right you wont see the FSB through it. Thats what how they are designed....and you look through it with both eyes open.

I have a 1-4x scope on one of mine. You can obviously see it on 1x, but at 4x it's not in focus. No biggie.

Thanks for being a douche..this is my first AR and im learning. Instead of telling me to go buy another one, im asking for options. Dont you think i have looked for options already? Im just wondering if theres something better out there, or maybe someone has ran into this before..which it seems like they have.

Im also stating that someone said to mount the scope low..i tried that, no luck.

Maybe i need a different scope.

Chill dude. There are millions of options. Its a fucking AR thats what they are designed for. All I'm saying is look. I sent you a few options and gave you an alternate to raising it....AIMPOINT. I also told you what to search for. Try Eotech too, you will see it in that one but as long as you line everything up the bullet goes where you want it too.
Its called breaking stones, your from Jersey I thought you guys are supposed to be good at it. My bad:confused:

Tons of stuff you can do to an AR what is the brand? You can always swap out the barrel with a non fixed front sight but then your looking at $$$

    I have an LMT

^^ When you have a high powered optic, being that close the impediment disappears. Pretty much the same thing as when your looking through your scope and you cant see small branches on brush when its close in, which is why they teach you to make sure your firing lane is clear in a sniping school. The light bends around the fixed sight and you see past it.

Huh?? I think light is capable of bending but not in this circumstance.

It's just not within the focal point of the sight line so you don't see it past ~X1 magnification.

All the front sight does is obstruct some light from entering the tube and presenting a lesser lighted image.

Front sight base is a non issue when shooting. If using a red dot sight like an Aimpoint or eotech your eye focus should be downrange anyway, putting the front sight outside your range of focus and at most it will present a light blur. It is only a distraction if you let it be a distraction.

The Army and Marines have issued thousands of M4s with the fixed front sight and either a 1x red dot or 4x ACOG, I don't think they'd be doing this if it was an issue.

Looking at buying my first AR-15, looking at a bushmaster MOE M4 .223/5.56, Ive looked at other brands like Stag arms, Rock river arms, red jacket firearms, and colt. I am looking to spend around a grand not two. I think ive made the choice of the bushmaster. Ive looked at a ton of reviews ect and colt seems to be the winner but they are pricy. The red jacket had reviews focused on the show, none of which i read had anyone whos actually shot and owned one ect, idk if u hate the show ect i wanna know how the gun shoots ect. Ive show rock river and colt and didnt like the RR. Ive held the bushmaster, colt, red jacket, and stag arms and the red jacket feels just as solid as the colt.
So im looking at a Bushmaster or Red jacket, Leaning toward the bushmaster

Nothing wrong with bushmaster, but if you haven't looked at BCM yet I would strongly suggest that.
