I have a brand new Tacoma and I am going to replace the seats because they are very uncomfortable on a long trip. I have done this before with my old 2010 Tacoma Sport, the only problem was I couldn't figure out how to bypass or even reinstall the passenger occupancy sensors on the new seats. I am probably going with Corbeau as they have custom mounting brackets and I already have a pair of Corbeau seats.

Does anyone know what can be done about this?

If you are putting in racing seats with a 5 point harness, where do you expect to go when properly buckled in? Forward into the dash or Steering wheel?

No 5 point harness, just keeping factory seat belts. I don't want to default my warranty.

You can cut the modules out of the factory seats and install them in the other seats if it's that big of a deal to you. Personally, I just cut all the wires and disabled them, then pulled the gauge pod apart and painted over the idiot light. I also have 5 points and a full cage so airbags won't do anything for me anyway.

Yeah I had thought about trying to install them in the new seats, I guess I'll see what happens.

check out my build and there's another thread out there that talks more about the newer trucks' airbag systems. the wiring can be taken out of the stock seats easily and can be used to activate the airbag system

Ok I see you got your airbags to work. Did you just take the stock sensors and install them in the porsche seats?

for the Pre 09 trucks there is only a gel bladder weight sensor that's on the passenger side seat. i put it underneath my seatcovers so it still functions properly. everything else (the wire harnesses) i grounded to the chassis and buried underneath my carpet

Oh you had the bench seat too yeah? Yeah in the 09+ bucket seats there is 4 separate sensors mounted to the bracket. I'm going to try and install them in my new seats.
