Got my First ticket today No Mud flaps LOL Hawaii PICS :)

Aloha all,

Well today I got my first ticket. I got pulled over for no mud flaps (witch I do have mud flaps) and also my tires stick out 3 - 4 " witch they only stick out 1/2" or less...




What are these 4x4 logo things called again?

Yeah, there is no way i would have accepted that ticket unless he wrote it instead of something worse (like speeding).

I would fight it. On Oahu the judges are specific. If you get a ticket for no mud flaps but you have them, they would throw it out. If he gave you a ticket for insufficient mud flaps or tires not covered , sticking out past protection than...I would be worried. Good Luck Bro !!!

Ya I cant find the laws on this mud flaps. The tire is in the fender, its damn close, but they do not stick out past the center of the fender.. The mud flaps are small, but its what the truck has, so no idea lol....

There was a guy in the costco parking lot that asked what i got a ticket for, and I said mud flaps, and the guy yells over to asshole to the cop lol...

 

On the back of the ticket, it checked the box "No mud Guards" witch is wrong and he should have selected something else...

 

Those tires would be a ticket in California without flares.
Doesn't matter whether they stick out 1/2" or 6"... beyond the fender is beyond the fender.
Another one of those laws that I don't quite get.
6" out? Ya... that's going to throw rocks and rainwater on other vehicles (though no worse than a semi).
1/2"? It's bullshit.

 

in cali when i lived there, i have 35x12.50' and never got pulled over 10 years no problems... I always had mud flaps tho....

 

Your truck is tame compared to plenty of the trucks I've seen the last 2 weeks home. I think you can beat this ticket easy. Good luck!

He checked the box no mud flaps, so i am sure they will prob just toss it out...

 

Well, Some people I know who want to be dicks, they give tickets to people who piss them off, to piss them off. You can clearly beat the ticket, but it may just be that he is messing with you. It is shitty either way though.

 

It's end if the month too so gotta fill the quota! I dunno how they could have a complaint about your stuff. You did the truck right with tall skinny tires instead of the normal out here with fat tires. I should call my uncle for check out your truck and see if can scrap the ticket. PM me the cops name and ill see if I can help if you want. I'm only home for a couple more days.

 

Ya I hear ya on that, its just really weird, Most of the cops here on kauai are my customers, i fix their computers, and do all kinds of stuff for them (I make sure to take care of them) and this guy of course wasn't one of them..

I will go to court, I am not putting flares on my truck, i am not going to put larger flaps on the back vs the stock ones... I know I will win, its just the point...

They need to be pulling people over who are dangerous and shit ya know....

ya that was "my bad" At least i wasn't on my bike, i would have been going 10x the speed limit in that spot lol
