2019 Super White Tacoma TRD Off-Road
I bought my truck in November 2009 after going to Reno to see my parents for thanks giving. I ended up leaving with a 2008 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 6-speed. I was basically the happiest person ever getting my dream truck when I was 19. I didn't need anyone to cosign and did everything by myself. It was a huge deal for me. After getting the truck I got a K&N Cold Air Intake. I fell in love with the sound of the truck after that. After that the mod bug didn't really bite me for awhile until I found myself deployed to Afghanistan. I am ashamed to admit it but I thought about trading my truck in to get a Subaru Impreza WRX STI. I was so close to making this decision, but financially decided it was stupid at the moment (and stupid all together even though I still want one). Once I decided to keep the truck the bug finally bit me after almost 3 years. This is where the journey begins!

While deployed my truck was left out side and I had rock chips in the paint and when I got back the chips had rusted. I was not a happy camper and to be completely honest my heart was broken. The next day I took it to Maaco and process began. I dropped it off on 11/5/2012 and picked it up on 11/9/2012. In August or September I ordered my new wheels from FN Wheels and had an awesome experience with these guys. They were very prompt and understanding when it came to me paying and questions I had. I highly recommended them it was a pleasant experience. Around the same time I also ordered my 3'' Toytec Lift kit. I dont really have much to say yet about them, but I have high hopes.

    Update 11/12/12

Today my buddy and I were about to install my lift kit. In the process we came to a problem right off the bat! Front Passenger tire a lug was stripped. How? I have no idea! Anyways we attempted to remove it using WD40 and a little bit of love. This gave us no luck so we lowered the tire and tightened everything back down. I called the wife and told her that to get it removed might cost a lot of money. I wasn't familiar with a situation like this so I braced for the worst. She told me since we are at it I might as well get my new tires and get my new rims mounted.

One door closed today, but another one opened! I picked up the Wrangler SilentArmor's and they seem pretty awesome so far! Even though I've only driven 3 miles on them so far. Anyways I am going to get my lift kit installed this weekend and I cannot wait!

    MMMMMM!

    11/20/12

So finally I got my lift kit on I was gonna take build pictures but figured there are a ton on here already so decided to just get it done. Wouldn't of been able to do it with out a guy I work with.
Anyways I'm pretty excited about this and love the way the truck looks but it's no where close to being done.

Great looking truck! Your new paint looks really nice! I would help you install your lift if you were closer. Try posting in your regional forum to see if there is someone close to you.

As for the projector brand, I'd strongly suggest TRS. They have awesome customer service and good prices. I think they are having another group buy. The mod isn't too difficult to do yourself, just use the writeups on here and take your time. If I can do it, anyone can.

Keep us posted on your mods.
