I was wondering if anyone knows if the 2012 TRD Catback will fit on the 2013 models. I picked up my 2013 today and was given a TRD Exhaust to seal the deal...They call parts, and they say that they only have one for a 2012...they have to wait until tomorrow to cal someone and confirm fitment...

I just want to be armed with accurate info if they come back saying that it will or wont fit...theyre footing the bill, so I dont care if I have to wait a month for it to come out...

I know this is true for the most part, but better safe than sorry...if I tell them to order it and put it on, I'm stuck with it either way...On or not...

Does anyone have the part number? Just bought 2013 MGM DCLB Sport and I got a call yesterday saying that it doesn't fit?

I have a 2013 Tacoma DC TRD sport. I went to the dealership today to pick up my TRD exhaust. The parts manager says that the 2012 will fit with a modification. Evidentally there is a bend that is necessary on the 2013 that the 2012 did not have. This requires an acetelene (sp?) torch to bend the 2012 kit to fit the 2013. Hope that helps.

WOW! Damn trucks are virtually the same! Well mine's still at the dealer and if they have to torch it I will be making sure that this thing is fully covered!

Like what? Also, instead of going to buy 400$ in torch equipment take it to a exhaust shop.

I ended up ordering a 12256 Magnaflow muffler and a new stainless steel exhaust tip. Got both of them for $130 off of Amazon. Taking them to muffler shop to have installed next week.
It's my understanding it may take a while for other companies to develop new catbacks due to the new bend that makes it different for the 2013 model from just carrying over their previous 2012 model.
Again... this is the info from the dealer. Would be nice to have a 2012 and a 2013 side by side so that we could look and see what if any the differences are.

Can anyone confirm that a 2012 TRD Catback will fit a 2013 without Bending? I was about to order one until I read this thread.

I can 100% confirm that you will have to bend the rear hanger closest to the exhaust tip 45 degrees to make it fit on the 2013. The magnaflow was just too loud for me... so I did purchase the TRD exhaust. Shop heated up the hanger and bent it for me. Took them total of about 25 minutes to do everything. All other mounts worked out perfect. Only other issue that we are having is that we had to order a new doughnut gasket as there was little exhaust leak.

Here is a video I took showing the hanger. I didn't know the dealership did this, but it looks bent. Fit is good and tight, but looks like they did in fact bend it. Hope this helps.

Here is a pic of a pre-2013 where you can see the exhaust hanger facing the drivers side...my 2013 faces the rear...

I have a 2013 Sport access cab and wanted a TRD cat back exhaust put on before I picked the truck up from the dealer. Was told the 2012 woud not fit, they would not order it. If they oreder it and it did not fit I was stuck with it. Took the truck without it. Guess I'll wait for the 2013 exhaust. Do not understand how the 2012 exhaust won't fit the 2013. What was changed?

See post number 15. The rear hanger used to face the drivers side. The mount was rotated 45 degrees clockwise (looking from below). I suppose you could just get a new custom rubber hanger or bend the metal part attached to the actual exhaust.

Someone with the ability to punch new rubber hangers with the 45degree bend would make some money if they could produce them...

I am new to this board and a new Tacoma owner and I appreciate all the great tips, tricks and mod feedback. I thought I would share something that I found while searching for the 2013 TRD Catback Exhaust. Apparently here is the part number and I could only find two websites that carry it besides eBay. Here it is: PTR31-35130. Not sure if anyone has checked into this yet.

I bought a trd cat back exhaust for my new 2013 only to have the dealership tell me it was not a fit for the newest year. They did a Toyota search and found that the new part number was PTR31-35131. I called the place where I ordered it from and they too did a search with Toyota and said it was designed differantly. So they ordered a new one for me. FYI the rear hanger is differant and the two holes for the spring bolts where it attaches to the cat are slightly differant also. Hope this helps.
