Its been a very good 4 years with my 09 Tacoma. Its a great truck all around. Looks great, drives great, and still gets plenty of looks.

But I am looking for a change and seeking a little larger truck. With all the great incentives out there I think I am going to go ahead and get this Ford F150 FX4.

Some will boo me, but it is what it is. If I get tired of the Ford I can always come back.

I keep telling myself that I will not be lifting the F150 but who knows. I wasnt going to mod my tacoma but I did.

They don't want to give me much if I trade it in so I might just hang onto it and sell it myself. I have been floundering over this decision for a week now and its just hard to let the tacoma go.

Give me another hour and I will probably change my mind again.

yes, I want the better gas mileage.

If the 2014 Tundra redesign is worthy I may come back that way later.

They are really nice trucks. My neighbor just got the 2012 super crew FX2 Ecoboost. Badass. I say go for it. I think I'm about to drink the kool aid myself, I could use the room.

I get X plan pricing on the Ford so that is almost at Invoice, other incentives are giving me an additional $5-7k off.

So looking at it wholesale to wholesale they are offering me $19k at one dealer and $20k at another dealership.

I hadn't looked at any of the special pricing lately. Ford sure is incentive happy these days. If you have to have the space, it seems like a good deal. I really like having my Tacoma and a larger vehicle for the extra space.

The FX4 package is the way to go. It gets rid of all of the old man chrome.

Don't expect fuel mileage to be any better with the ecoboost. I have read posts from owners that are not happy with the mileage and 16 mpg is common.

If I get 16 in the city then I am not doing any worse than I am with the tacoma. 3 inch lift and some 33s and my gas mileage fell to 15-16 city and 17/18 hwy on my tacoma. Its not just about gas mileage. They way I look at any vehicle, if you cant afford to not worry about gas mileage then dont buy it.

I do like the styling and the larger size of the truck though.

Sounds like a good upgrade to me. Wish I had bought a F-150 instead of this POS Tacoma. Hindsight is always 20/20 though

Ford is the one brand that I've swore to never buy again. I've pretty much had at least one new vehicle from all the major manufactures and Ford is the one that I had the most problems with. My 2002 F150 had a bent drive shaft from the factory, leaked water into the cab that would drip on your head when you went around corners that took them 5 tries to fix and had some serious paint issues that had to be repaired. My 2006 Ranger leaked oil the day after I bought it and that took them 4 tries to fix. The 4th time they replaced the rear main seal and something in the transmission and that finally fixed it. It also did this thing where randomly it wouldn't start. It would just crank and crank and crank then I would wait for a few minutes and it would fire up but wouldn't you know it would never do it for the Ford mechanics. Just to much stuff to have to mess with when you buy a brand new truck.

Good luck with your 2012... I have a laundry list of stuff wrong with mine that makes your ford list look like a joke. Youll see soon enough as the miles pile up on your 2012.

Never kept a vehicle longer than 3.5 years so I'm not really to worried about it but I do expect a brand new vehicle to leave the factory without leaking water and oil which the Toyota has done. This truck has excellent fit and finish and I have zero complaints so far. Looks like you bought a first model year truck also which was one of your first mistakes. I never buy a first model year anything because there will always be bugs to get worked out.

lol... all my info is fake...

Toyota does not fix issues within a year... Take a look at the TSB list and you will see this. 2012's still have similar issues that 2005's had.

Sorry to hear about your 2012 Tacoma's not meeting your expectations. I in no way in hell can say that my 2009 Tacoma is a PoS. Oh the contrary. I have had zero issues with mine.

I had not heard this before on the 2012s. With any manufacturing process it is assembled by people. People are inherently lazy and screw up all the time no matter what they are building. I have had a couple lemons in the past of all brands but I cant say that all GMCs or all Fords are a PoS because of it. Mine might have been but maybe not all of the others.

If someone would just by this garage queen NSX that I have, I would have room to keep my Tacoma.

Pretty bad I would prefer to sell the NSX and keep the Tacoma but that is the truth of it. The tacoma is a daily driver and the NSX just sits in the garage.
