Timing belt / water pump 2002 toyota tacoma

    Hi, hope you guy's can help me out :)

    I need to do the timing belt on my 2002 toyota tacoma... I was looking at this "special tool" for holding the crank pulley as I've seen you need to do in other post on the forum. Is this a suffecient tool???

    Also, what parts do you guy's reccomend I order based on the old "Im already in here I may as well do it" theory?

    Any other special tools I need?

    i took mine to the dealer a couple months ago, and had them do both... problem solved, no special tools needed.

    I made the special tool and wound up breaking my balancer on our old 4Runner with it. Cracked the casting. But I had no problem getting the balancer off with a regular balancer puller and I took the crank nut off with my impact. After replacing the balancer I put it back on with the impact too. It's been 75k miles and it's fine.

    You don't need a special tool. You can put a socket on it with a cheater pipe leaning on the body near the battery then bump the ignition switch. Tighten it back up with a impact.
