    Yo boys.

Playtime at Pismo this weekend. I did bottom out the suspension quite a few times but avoided catching air more than a couple feet, I think. I bottomed out harder than I wanted though. Oh NO!

Now I noticed my left front sagging about 1 inch lower than the right. My tires rub on the mudflaps now very easily just going up very mild driveways on both sides, but more left than right. It only rubbed before when reversing previously. Blown shocks?

    My Truck and Specs:
2011 TRD Offroad Double cab, short bed
23k miles, 15k on modified lift.
    OME lift kit
    885 coils
Spacers to make 3 inch lift added
1/2 trim spacer for "Tacoma" lean
    AAL rear
Bud Built Front and TC case skids
    Sliders
(These last two probably add another 300bls or so)
    265/65/17 Yokohamas

    Initial inspection:
    No noticeable broken parts
    No leaking from the shock

    What'cha boys think?

No, I'll check that out and report back. Are you thinking the front could just be bearing the sag of the back end if the springs are busted?

If there is no front end issue I would look there too

Left front to Right front difference: 5/8 inch more sag on left
Left rear to Right rear difference: 1/2 inch more sag on left

Doesn't seem that much but it's definitely rubbing on the flaps way easier than before

    Interesting

So it's pitched down driver's front and pitched down passenger rear ?

Could your alignment have been knocked out of whack causing the rub ?

Any marks around the heads of the alignment cams ?

Opps. I meant both front and rear driver's side is pitched/sagging. Corrected above.

I'll check out the alignment cams in the AM and report back. I'm not sure how alignment would affect sag or cause rubbing, unless they were way off. If they were off that much, wouldn't my steering be off as well?

I'm not suggesting the alignment being off would account for the sag , but a change in caster could cause the rubbing you didn't notice before

As an aside , would a blow shock show up as a sag ?

The coil is doing all the lifting and the shock is only damping the travel , no ?

Ah, gotcha. I didn't think of that. Thanks for voicing that.:) It sounds like either way I'll need a trip to the local alignment/suspension shop.

Ah, yes. True. But do you think a blown shock would just go through it's travel too quickly, allowing the suspension to near bottom on slow small bump/driveways? I don't know, just surmising.

But yes, you are right, the coil supports the vehicle at it's static height, so the shock should not affect the static sag. Hmm. So what could be causing this sag? Unless my truck was not perfectly matched drivers'/passenger side to begin with after my lift and I just didn't notice it.

A trip to the alignment shop is required for this one.

Maybe it settled in some with the articulatation , maybe you didn't notice the sag before , or maybe the additional weight you noted has gradually brought the front down , or a combination of all three

At any rate , I would suggest you check the alignment / cams if you have ruled out anything broken up front
