A good quality poly plow is superior to an all metal plow. They weight less, are just as strong, and they're slick, so its a lot easier to push wet clumpy snow than with a metal plow.

I agree with you but the downside of many of the lighweight poly plows is that, because they are lightweight, they tend to float on top of the snow. That's why I chose the Sno-way because it has hydraulic downpressure.

I have been looking at the 6'9" Fisher SD for my regular cab Tacoma for the last year. It would require some customizing to the push plates for mounting, as it is "incompatible" with the Tacoma, but it is not much heavier than any of the other options out there for the Tacoma and is a smaller model of the tried and true Fisher plows used year after year by professionals.

Just joined the "Mr Plow" club. Picked up a used Western Suburbanite and cannot wait for the snow this year. :) I plan on just doing my driveway and my parents when we have larger storms.

Like some said prior. Just take it nice and slow. I plowed with mine all winter this season. We had a crap load of snow. I'd recommend putting some ballast in the back. I put about 150-200lbs of sand bags. It really helps!
