Those look like two totally different tire types!

I'm leaning towards the AT3's for my next set, but I don't plan to off-road much.

AT3s are great. I have them and off road here and there, no problems really. Had a blast at mudfest with no issues. 20,000 miles on them and they still got 30,000 or more to go I would think

Don't get the E load range. Way too much for your truck. it will ride like crap and the tires will be very heavy.

The Coopers only weigh 10lbs more than stock dunflops.

I was really talking about the Treadwrights. 10 pounds is quite a bit in unsprung weight. Especially for a 4 cylinder.

I would go with the Coopers since you mention DD.

As i have said many times the AT3 is a pretty great tire. Really good grip off road and good manners on road, looks great to. But i agree those are two totally different tread designs to even compare.

Thanks guys. Im going to get the AT3s. And discount tire direct has them for a little under 150 a tire.
And i looked into the ATP's but they no longer sell them they were replaced by the AT3.
Now should I spend the extra money and get the warranty?

:notsure: just checked the discount tire direct site and it looks like the ATP is still there in a 225/75/16, 265/75/16, and 285/75/16. The 265/75/16 is listed for $132.

I know the ATR is discontinued in favor of the at3

Edit; I see in your op you're looking for a 235/85/16...is this correct? If so, disregard
I know the ATP was/is only offered in select sizes...

I was dead set on Duratracs, but they are a bit pricey and they dont last very long. When I get my truck paid off which should be by the time the AT3's wear out I will probably get Duratracs.

If you are looking for long life the Michelin's can't be beat. I had a set on my 2WD 2006. I figured I was going to get about 60,000 miles out of them.

I mounted AT3's a few months ago, and have about 3k on them. I like them but from what I hear, you have to keep them rotated fairly often. I plan on doing it every 5k.

I havent had any issues with them. Keep in mind though, my MPGs dropped from 19-20 to 17-18 since I've mounted them. I have 265/65/18 and new rims. The combination of the 2 may have caused the MPG drop.

I went with discount tire and opted for the extended coverage on the tires because cooper was offering a $75 rebate that basically covered the additional cost from the coverage.

discount tire has extremely fast shipping as well - got to my door about 3 days after i ordered them by the way. Also - wash off the blue crap that's on the white letters ASAP. I let it dry and had to scrub it off. It's soap and is only there to protect the letters during shipping.
