Help! My better half took up fishing this past summer. I now have four fishing rods parked in my dining room closet for the winter. They keep falling over and geting tangled in the coats and vacuum cleaner hoses. There HAS to be a better way! Any suggestions on how to make a simple rod holder to stow them out of the way (in the basement) and keep them from creating a cluster?

Ideas, please!! Pictures would be helpful, too. I'm okay with basic woodworking power tools and techniques.

^^ that's about as easy as it gets op.

    1. cut 3 2x4's the same length
    2. screw two of them together at a 45 degree angle
    3. screw above listed creation to the wall about two feet off the ground
    4. take last remaining 2x4 and screw your hooks or eye bolts in it, equal length from each other
    5. drill that baby to the wall 6 feet or so off the ground directly about step 2 creation.
    6. have a beer.

hahaha. you're welcome. . . now, that's not the most aesthetic creation, but as for a way to keep them from falling over or getting tangled, it will work fine. you could get fancy and use a 1x4 as the back on your bottom piece, pant them, drill partial holes for the rod handles to sit in, etc. . . but anybody can make that in a few minutes and then they will be out of your way
