Bed Light Bar For my DCSB

I made a light bar out of 1-1/2 pipe and 5/16 plate. Just wanted a few opinions on it since mine is biased . The welds arent ground down, only 4 of 8 lights are mounted, and its not painted yet. but will either be plasti-dipped or painted black.

 

Not bad at all. It's way better than anything I could have made!

 

Why are you mounting so many?? It looks good though!

i have the four mounted on top forward, im putting two on the underside pointing backwards, then two on the underside of the supports faceing outward. and thank you

Nothing against your work, it looks good, light/roll bars just don't look right on 2nd gen street/dd rigs.

 

Ive only had this truck for two months, when im done, it shouldn't look like a normal dd

 

Looks alright to me. Just a suggestion but I'd prime and paint it or bed liner it instead of plasti-dip.

 

Plastidop would be a temp solution. But rhinolining is certainly an option

 

spay on bed lined it and hooked all the lights up. decided not to do all 8 just 6. pics will come tomorrow

 

Looks a little over built for a light bar. But over built is never really a bad thing.

But to hell with that I want the jet in the background.

Grind down your welds and make sure no pin holes. Seal it up so no moisture gets in the tubes.

Instead of all of those lights you should throw a ridged 30" led up there.

That F-15 is not very scary lookin when you see it has no engines

 

I really like this! I agree with others that it looks a little funny right now for 1 because its not finished and 2 because the truck looks pretty stock and the bar appears sorta out of place. But im sure once the build is complete and the bar is finished it would look pretty sweet. I wouldnt mind getting one to replace my lightbar seen below. Id mount my current lightbar on the bottom side facing rear so that its higher and more visible. Then I would also relocate my aux reverse/flood/dust lights which are under my bumper to the bar and have them rear facing. Then Id get a 30" or 40" Rigid flood and put it on top foreword facing... you for making me want to spend a bunch of money when im broke cuz of Christmas and vacation

 

i would love to throw an led on it but i like the 6" round look and light bars are pricey

 

it was sitting across the street from my old dorms. i passed it going to work and had to do a double take. it was really random. so then i tought to myself... photo op

 

thanks alot for youre advice. your truck looks reallynice with the LED. i would love to take the rear facing lights and put an LED on it. but being before christmas and me moving to hawaii in early march my truck mod fund is slimming down

 

almost finished. whille i was at it i did the fog light anytime mod but my DRL wont come on when the switchis on the DRL option. oh well....

 

It seems silly how expensive the led light bars are.

Back when I had my jeep with some lights on top I just got some farm tractor housings (rubber) for like $10 and a bulb for like $10 so for $100 I had a hell of a lot of light.
