Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Hi Everyone!! I have been lurking around this forum for the three weeks since I bought my truck. It only seemed appropriate that I sign up. I am a new TW member and a first time Taco owner. After the STACK of repair receipts from my ZR2 ownership, I decided to give Toyota a try. I bought this truck as a sound, affordable, economical vehicle with the way the economy is and gas has been. It has about 51,000 miles on it and was under $13,000. I have to say that I don't love the color, but after owning all dark vehicles I am enjoying the "clean" look all the time. I never thought I would love a cap so much too!! While we were test driving it, my wife told me I aged 20 yrs and it was a grandpa truck. Well after I bought it, I renamed desert sand mica, to old man tan. Whats life if you can't laugh at yourself. I miss some of my "goodies" my old truck had, but I do LOVE this truck. Its the best when my 4wd gets 21.6 mpg, and I have been having fun with it. Can't wait to see what I get when I start behaving!! Thanks for all the great info, and I am glad to be a member.

Honestly if the economy was better, and gas never broke the $3 a gallon mark, I would have a access with a v-6. But with the chance of losing my job and everything, this truck is perfect for now. And everything points to it being a GREAT deal. It has one ding in it, and one chip thats starting to rust. I can take care of those, and it would be flawless. I am glad it is the least popular color, cause I got a great deal because of it. LOL A similar truck/mileage/no cap though, was going for $16000 by me.

xedge, had to look thru your photos to explain your name. Exactly what I figured. I have a 2003 edge 800. Same colors as yours, but not the edge X. Kind of figured you had to ride with a name like that and living in Vermont. Gotta love snowmobiling, keeps you going through the long winter months!

OldManTan... you'd be surprised how good you can make that color truck look. It is nice, so don't sell yourself short. Time for mods right? Welcome to Tacoma World!
