Hi.. I have owned my '08 white sport double cab for over 2 months now and I am looking for a little more out of my sound system. Right now I have the stock JBL system and it sounds ok but I am use to having more deeper bass in my previous vehicles. I had an extra 10" sub in my tool shed with an extra amp so I decided to build a box and an amp rack.

I basically used the same dimensions and design as supercrewsound.com. If I was to purchase that box from them...it would have cost about 145$ with shipping. Building the box myself with the amp rack has only cost me about 65$. I am sorry that I dont have any pictures of building the box.. should have taken some.

I am using a JL w1v2 with a 250 watt audiobahn amp that I drove a 12" subwoofer in my previous car.

Here is the box and the amp rack with the sub fitted flush into the box.

The box test fitted behind the seat... It's a tight fit. I am glad I made the sub mount flush into the box.

I ordered a audiocontrol LC6i so I am just waiting on that for now. I also need to figure out what I am going to do about the speaker level inputs into the audiocontrol. Once I get that in the mail I will finish up the amp rack and continue with the install.

    Update on the sub/amp install...

I wrapped up the install this weekend and everything worked out great. I like the audiocontrol LC6i and as soon as I found out what wires were positive and negative for the stock sub I hooked up the wires to the audiocontrol.

I tried to keep the install as simple as I could, so I resued most of the stock wiring from the stock sub. Here is a picture of the back of the amp rack...

I also mounted the factory JBL amp to rear of the amp rack because the way the wires were coming out of the panel, it seemed like the best place to put it...

Here is what it looks like now....

I will probably carpet the top portion of the rear of the cab to make it look a little better. And also put sound deadening because there is a good amount of rattling when I turn up the volume.

Thanks! This was the first time I built a box. I had a truck box before that was not carpeted but it was made by a car audio shop. So I kinda had an idea of how they built it. I also looked at Mr. Marv's sub box picture website and got some ideas.

Do you know if this could have been done with the LC2i instead of the LC6i that you used?
