I have a tapping noise on really cold days. Oil level is fine and it does not last but a minute or two. Could it be the exhaust?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.

You can put a oil pan heater on and use it under 30F. You can put it on a timer and have it set to turn on 4 or 5 hours B 4 you leave for work. No tap and U will get heat for your drive sooner. Or U can just live with it your choice.

My 08 2.7 does the same thing when it's real cold and the Stealership shop Manager said it was a cold start solenoid (whatever that is) and not a lifter. Hope he is right. LOL.
