    Hi,

I have had my 2007 Tacoma for two weeks now. I was going crazy because of the rubbing tires on the fenders since I have bought it... Today i had a install of a 2.5 inch Hell Bent Steel leveling kit and love the look of the front end. Im now wondering if the back is an 1 inch too low???? I might be over thinking this issue, or am I???

Please let me know if you have had the same issue and maybe a fix if it is true?

It would really help a lot if you added pictures so we could all see what you are talking about.

Measure your front and back from the centre of the rim to the bottom of the fender. There should be 1.7 inches of difference between the front and back in a level truck. Remember that in a fully level truck, with some weight in the back, you may end up nose high. So some leave a bit of rake (higher in the back) to off-set this when using your truck as a truck.

1.5" or 2" tappered block I know not everyone likes them but it works for me and was an easy 3hr install. I dont really do any offroading so it suits me just fine.

So I guess it comes down to you guys (experts). Do I 2 inch block it or add a leaf?

I do not push my truck to the limits but do enjoy some nice trails. I don't want to void my factory warranty but want to get my ass off the ground. What should I do?

Will the add a leaf stiffen the ride and lift it 1.5 inches?

I've got 1.25 inch blocks from Tuff Country and they were easy to put on and pretty cheap, doesnt hurt anything and it gets the job done.

I stopped by local 4x4 shop. The measured from center of wheels to bottom of the fender and suggested a 2 inch block kit (35.00). Only concern is that they are NOT tapered and they are made out of an aluminum block. They said it should not be an issue...

Just remember that the fenders are not shaped the same, which is why I said you should be 1.7" higher in the back... this is for 100% level.

I'm new to this site and internet forums both but i am looking for some real advice on lifting my truck. I am mostly on road but about once a month i head into the hills for fishing/camping etc. I'm looking to lift the front end only and put bigger tires on. I've done some research and thinking about going with ome lift coils on my stock shocks and upgrading 245/75r16 to 235/85r16. I don't want to overhaul the whole suspension yet, it's still less than 25,000 miles. will this work? has anybody tried it?

I bought my 2.5 inch level kit off of hell bent steel. Their site has a few different options to lift your truck. They had great reviews and offered free 3 day shipping. Might be worth it to check em out.

OK, Now i am really confused. Before my front leveling kit, it was obviouse that the front was lower than the rear. Now that the 2.5 inch kit is installed, the front is higher by 1.5 inches. Would that mean I need a 3 inch lift in the rear to meet the 1.7ish inches in the back???

order the toytec add a leaf, it is better than a block and will stiffen up the ride a bit, with the block as soon as you put anything in the back of your truck the rear will sag with the stock leafs.
