Q1: Do I want spare tire and/or wheel locks from the dealer?

Q2: Are the keyed lugs of a common shape for all Toyotas such that it would be easy for a miscreant to get their hands on the right tool?

Q3: Does the TRD Sport spare have a matching alloy wheel or steel? The one I test drove was a Limited, and its spare was the full on bling. Salesguy said "Yeah sure. Definitely." when I asked him this question, meaning he had not a damn clue.

Q4: Can I still haggle for add ons even though I already made my deal?
Salesguy said day of purchase was the time to talk about that stuff, and his concern was only getting the vehicle itself. Did I get deflected into a position of bamboozlement?
Add ons I want are the All Weather Floor Mats, Bed Mat, and VIP Alarm. (And wheel locks if you guys tell me I should)

    .
Only answer I know for sure is the spare is a steel wheel, but why would a dealer sell you a truck without a spare????

Welcome to TW and bonus points for using the word 'miscreant'.:)

Q1: do you want to lock your wheels on? If so... Yes. If not... No

Q2: there are 6 different patterns for the key.

Q3: not sure. Might have to get on your hands and knees and check

Q4: you can do whatever you want! Might be a little more difficult if you already paid, but it never hurts to try.

    Hope I helped a bit...

Additionally, wheel locks slow down wheel thieves by approximately 5 seconds per wheel. In other words, not at all.

You can get a lock like this for your spare- I think '13's have it too (I have a '12)

Lol yeah its pretty fancy! But yeah I have heard about thieves roaming around with the spare tire tool stealing spares. I think its because usually the spare tire is almost brand new.

Nothing is going to stop a determined thief, but this will slow them down.

Is that a dealbreaker? Hydraulic spare tire servers could be a few more years out.;)

BTW, I think the alloy rims already have the stud locks installed... at least it was on mine.

    Re: add ons.

I'd go with Weathertech floor mats, I have the Toyota variety and while they are better than the carpeted ones that came with BluTaco the Weathertech ones look like the designers understand what floor mats are supposed to do.

I'd be more concerned about someone stealing the cats than the spare and or stock wheels. Get good insurance.
