Does anyone have some insight on a good setup for camping on the beach? My plan was to just sleep in the bed of my truck and buy some poles and a good tarp and lay it over the bed, but If its windy im thinking we might get sand blasted.

My second thought was to buy a small tent, but I really wanted to utilize the truck in some way. I dont have the money for a camper shell or I would have figured that one out on my own .

Im just looking for some good ideas on what some of you guys and gals may have came up with. If anyone has some products they could recomend I would be very greatfull.

Best idea i have so far is large tent that I can build over the truck bed(maybe even back the truck into it) and just place two cots in the bed side by side.

You can get a bed tent for $150ish. Might be a little more than you want to spend but it's already been engineered for you.
Also baby powder is awesome to get sand off you body before getting into the sleeping bag.
