thank you for the help. Tell me if you have ever heard of this happening to anyone else. 6 monthes ago i was off roading, hit a big puddle not flying just driving thru water up to the running boards get thru the puddle as i m pulling out the other side truck stalls try to start it, it fired up but instantly began knocking. Here i pulled water thru the air intake and blew my engine!

It can happen. All it takes is a little bit of water to get up into the intake. The part where the intake tubing goes through the fender is exposed.

There are two snorkels out there. The one in the link I showed you is not made specifically for the 2nd gen Tacomas. There is a new snorkel out there made for the newer Tacomas.

My truck has the snorkel not made for the 2nd gen Tacomas.

Look up "spoonman" he has a snorkel that is actually for a 2nd gen tacoma, not a retrofit kit that requires exhaust pipe to make it work, I almost ordered the cruiser outfitter kit until I came across spoonman's build

Is the Safari Snorkel the only one on the market available for the Tacoma? It would be nice to have more than one choice. I'm thinking this could be a good investment considering people have trashed their motors going through a little water.:mudding:
