Hey guys I finally decided to upgrade my system. The only problem i have is choosing the right box and choosing the sub that will fit the box. Now I have an 08' DC, and i found a box for two 12's, but the mounting depth is between 5-6" deep. Shallow mount subs is my last resort so i really need your opinions on what box to get and what subs to get. Thank you

as far as the subs thats a hard answer because everyone likes different ones.. in the flat subs i favor the pioneer flats becasue i believe they have been doing the flat design the longest and i think they have all problems worked out and some other brands have just started doing the flat subs and might not have everything worked out but at the same time i have only used the pioneers so i dont want to speak out of term about the other subs! good luck with your choice i hope this helps!

How much does Mr.Marv normally charge for a box that can hold 2 10's or 2 12's?

Not sure about 2 subs, but for 1 10 marks box was around 170. But he's such a great guy and source of info and he could help you choose subs, he won't try and suggest something spectacularly expensive, just what you are looking as far as performance, he's saved me money on a couple other components of my install.

I had some pleasant interactions with marv. I was thinking of ordering an enclosure and sub (1 10") but, when it was all said and done, it was going to run $550. I'm sure it would be great quality but way out of my budget.

PWK/Hexibase did a review of the Sundown SA12 a few months back. If you aren't familiar with him, he's incredible with audio engineering and enclosure design:

I really want these subs but my only worry is trying to find a box that can accomodate these woofers. Even if i find a box my other worry if the box has enough breathing room. I really appreciate all the help guys!
