Whether it is the 2013 base lack of standard features, where the Gen II fell short, or Canadians... These are all valid and it is our right.... no.. DUTY... to complain about such 1st world problems.

    I mean we are here.

We have this glorious / sometimes depraved forum.
Let it ride, because THANK GOD, we got time.

    Lol.

FWIW I agree that rear discs would be nice, just to make maintenance easier. But the rest of it is ho-hum stuff, and the drums do fine.

The mudflaps suck. I don't care if everybody else has the same crappy things on their trucks, the mudflaps suck and have no business being on a serious 4wd. The Gen I had nice mudflaps, no reason to change them.

And they short changed us with the weakest V6 Toyota makes. They gave us their weakest V6, the bums.

That rear bumper is a joke, that's a 4runner bumper, not a truck step bumper. Toyota should have stayed with the real step bumper they had on the Gen I.

Toyota actually changed them because in their testing, they found out that stiff plastic is less likely to be pinched between wheel and terrain offroad and pulled off like the 1st gen rubber flaps were.

Not that it matters. If you want to fit a tire of any decent size on these trucks, the mudflaps need to go. And they should be gone anyway just for aesthetic reasons.

All I can say to that is that you are ignorant and incorrect.

Aside from that, look at the RPM at which the 1GR-FE reaches its torque peak compared to most of Toyota's other V6 motors.

Furthermore, vehicle designs are engineered and then put into manufacturing over the course of years. Tooling, assembly lines, QC procedures all have to be put in place. The 2gen Tacoma went into production in 2004. They've been making them for 9 years. It's not surprising that by today's standards it's due for a redesign.

I never had any trouble with it during the brief period the OEM bumper remained on my truck. But then, again, I don't complain about things I new I was getting when I purchased the vehicle. I knew it wasn't perfect off the lot. But I've gone about fixing that. It's getting closer, time and again.

This is post of the year. :D

I too had some gripes, with no solutions.

    Then switched to a 4runner.

We all know the pitfalls to our trucks, he obviously didn't do any research first, but this was hilarious!
