    This is my 2013 Prerunner 2X4 Dlb Cab Long Bed SR5.(See pictures below) No mods yet, all stock.

    I wanted to get a TRD but I didn't so my main question is:

    1. how inferior is this to a TRD offroad or sport.

    2. If I get a suspension upgrades can I make it as competent as the stock trd

    or better?

    you wont have sport seats or color matched stuff (trd sport) or a locker or atrac (trd off road) among some other things.

    With the suspension, you can upgrade it and make it better than a TRD truck

    Not trying to be a dick but don't go with a spacer lift if you want an upgraded suspension setup

    Bilstein 5100s, 17' Method NV Race Wheels, Goodyear Duratrac 265/70/17, Demello Sliders, Xenon/LEDs All Around, Dark Window Tint, Gobi Roof Rack (In the Mail), JL Audio Subs, Alpine Speakers and Amps
    I have an SR5 and ended up modding the crap out of it. I even made mine look like a TRD Sport for less than $1000...

    You save yourself a lot of coin by getting an SR5 as opposed to a TRD Sport or Off-Road, those packages are at least $3000+ I believe. If you don't do serious off roading that may require the rear locker, it's best to get the SR5 and get better suspension and wheels than a stock TRD Sport or Off Road.

    I was going to go with coil overs and a full leaf pack,

    I was told that will wear out my cv joints , has anyone done this and know how long it takes before you need to get a control arm?

    You need a Uca if you are lifting near 3 inches

    Cool, I didn't know that but I'm glad I got the prerunner, i mainly commute on the freeway and moderate off road twice a month.

    That brings me to another question, I don't want to get big mud tires that will kill my gas mileage but can I get bigger wider profile tires that are good on the hwy before I lift it? Or do I have to get some more clearance first.

    So after the UCA, there is no additional stress on your system, it will last a good amount of time?

    With any lift your truck will wear faster however the UCA is needed for an alignment.

    You can definitely get wider tires but I'd wait till you lift it.

    Have any idea how much more damage it does. Heres the deal, I do allot of climbing and camping and my stock system can get me 99% of back roads I need, I just want the lift to look cool(no shame)
    but i don't really need it so if its f*cking my truck constantly . ...

    It's not gonna kill your truck if installed right and properly aligned.

    Just got a 2013 prerunner sr5 with tow package it's all I need for camping and towing my boat! Works and looks great!
