Electrical problems are my nightmare. This started happening yesterday out of no where. I noticed that whenever I step me clutch in, the dash lights would turn off and the gauges would all die. As soon as I let off the clutch, everything would return back to normal. This morning the issue made a turn for the worse, as the dash would turn on and off whenever the key is turned to On, and would turn off when clutch is pressed in. Here is a video.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Issue seems to have started with clutch system. Thanks!

Is the clutch switch a positive or negative trigger on the second gens?
Seems like it might be a bad ground issue.

Ya that what I was thinking because on the video he sent me it seems to be "resetting" the dash everytime he presses the clutch...
Or could also be the clutch start cancel button causing something

Jens truck is going to be in better mechanical condition then yours lmao...like what has been said, look into the ignition switch and cluthc switch thingy. Could be a pinched wire from when you pieced everything back together when that monsterous roll cage was fabbed up, or maybe you snipped a wire when you were installing those badass interior LED lights..who knows and good luck!

Time to do the SupremeTaco/user name dash mod lmao

lol, thanks for all the times guys. So far im going to go back and start checking all the wiring for the clutch switch. I noticed the electrical to the dash would cut out when the clutch is about 2/3 pressed in. However, the clutch ignition switch doesnt engage unless the clutch is all the way pressed to the floor. Jerez mentioned that there is a clutch switch that disengages the cruise control that, if I remember correctly, engages when the clutch is just pushed in about half way. That may be the culprit.

Too bad I cant find the ncttora wiring diagrams online anymore.

Or another one can be a faulty wire coming from the fuse box in the engine bay from an ignition fuse...the fuse box was moved correct?

One more thing...when you get into the truck check the trip a and b on the cluster
If they have been reseted then it could be a short to the ecu

Me thinks this also happens when you disconnect the gauge cluster. At least it does on the first gen.

Ya I know...but it also does it when there's a short or a blown fuse from the ecu

so narrowed it down to the clutch spring hitting the back of the small fuse box behind the dash. We had to move the fuse box behind the little coin tray because a cage tube went right through that space, but the new place is a little farther back and the spring of the clutch directly strike the back of the fuse box and some of the wires behind it whenever I press the clutch in.

After messing around with the wires back there, I was able to fix the problem briefly, but the gauges would just turn back off as soon as I let go of the wires or move them ever so slightly.

There are hundreds of wires back there so I just have to figure out which one is responsible for powering the gauges, etc. So far the problem is not fixed, but I found out where it is. This sucks.

Nothing is worse than having truck issues you can't explain. I'm dealing with mine currently but nothing like this. . .
