I had a cat that I gave to a Canadian family once when our cat had kittens but since they stayed in America I guess you would have to say that it was an American-Canadian-American cat. I have one now that I'm pretty sure is a Mexican-American cat as it showed up when the Mexicans who lived down the road moved last year. It's funny where cat's end up. We had an old crippled stray tomcat around here for several years. A girl who had been living in Pennsylvania came back through here to visit relatives, saw the cat, and said "That's Old Grandpa -- he's my cat's daddy!"

Speaking of Canadian pennies, I found a bunch in a drawer last night, including one that I squashed and made into an elephant token at a zoo once. Is is legal for an American to squash a Canadian penny?

 

It is legal for an American to squash anything Canadian. It is written in the Book of Life Ch 23 par. I dunno, let's say 15, line 7.

How? It's just a penny. No way. Lol. Unless it was a mistake one. The only penny I know of that is worth a ton like that are the 1943 copper pennies.

1936 dot cent

The rare 1936 dot cent is as notable in Canadian numismatics as the 50¢ piece of 1921. There are only three known specimens of this coin, produced with the dot to show they were made in 1937 while the mint was waiting for new dies due to a delay caused by the abdication of King Edward VIII and the need to create new dies for his successor, George VI. The last one sold at Heritage Auctions in January 2010 for over $400,000 (this does not include taxes). It was graded specimen 66 by the Professional Coin Grading Service. All three known examples are in private collections, making it one of the few coins lacking in the Ottawa Currency Museum.
