My old grill was starting to chip paint, and it never did fit quite right (that's what I get for buying off ebay.) I've been seeing more and more satoshies on here, so I figured I could do one too. It took me two and a half nights to finish, but I got'er done. here are some pics.

I got a 4'x4' sheet of flattened expanded steel for about 20 bucks, some black and clearcoat paint, about 15 bucks so around 35 bucks total. and a lot of time put into it. I had bondo and a fiberglass repair kit, and a bunch of sandpaper already, but it would still only cost around 50- 60 bucks if you had to buy everything. I just epoxied the emblems on with a crapload of two part glue.

you might want to check this out
    http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258681

    you would need
some kind of grill material (i used expanded steel, but you could use punched aluminium, or a grillecraft grill, or a good number of other things)
you will need a hacksaw blade to take out the old grill
a bunch of sandpaper, ranging from 150grit to 2000grit. (I used mostly 220, until I got to the painting stage.)
a fiberglass repair kit (should come with fiberglass, and resin, and a squeegee thing)
a bondo kit(should come with a bondo spreader)
    a primer/scratch filler
    paint, (color match or black)
    clearcoat
    Masking tape (I used 1" and 3")
two tubes of two part epoxy
a 3' piece of #10 or #8 threaded rod, and nuts and washers for the same thread size.

I think that that's it. I might have forgot a thing or two, I had most of it sitting around, so I didn't really think about it.

Aww man, looks all wrong.....it's in the wrong driveway, lol. Bring it on over here where it belongs. You had no business making it look that cool & without proper authorization it will need to be confiscated. But, if you do one in black we can let it slide, OK?..............All BS aside, looks amazingly better! Props on the kraftsmanship.

yup, I think that's next on the agenda. (BHLM) I also have a black powdercoated headache rack on order, should be here tomorrow or monday. I'm not sure how it'll look, but I kind of need it for hauling my boat and dirtbikes and stuff around.
