Nothing unless you have steel or someother ferous metal in your hand.
Won't work with pure copper or aluminum or glass cook ware either.

 

i wonder how long you have to wait for it to cool down. unless it said and i completely missed it.

Last I checked IRON IS a Ferous metal.

 

IT doesn't get hot. Only the metal you put on it does.
