Was under the truck about to install my carrier bearing drop because I had been feeling some really bad vibes lately and saw this...ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360102824.973274.jpg

Well that's your vibe problem, not the carrier bearing.

No worries, you would have had to tear the u-joints apart to replace the carrier bearing anyways. If it were me, I'd have planned on replacing the u-joints anyways if I'm going to go through the trouble of tearing them apart. Good thing you found it now and not when it left you stranded.

On a positive note, it was the cheap, replaceable yoke that got destroyed. Thats about as close as you can get without things getting REALLY bad.

Turns out the entire driveshaft has to be replaced because of all the vibes, trying to convince dad to let me get a one piece, to replace the stock one is about 900, I think a custom will be cheaper

Check local salvage yards. You could pick up the entire drive line, flange to flange a lot cheaper than $900.

Also, were you given a reason why it needed to be replaced or is the shop just being lazy? U-joints and a carrier bearing are cheap and I can't see that yolk being overly expensive either. I'm not seeing a reason why you'd have to replace everything just because of the damage you pictured in the OP. I'd get the truck to a shop that specializes in drive line type work and let them take a look at it.

Well I trust this shop my family has been dealing with them for over ten years, but I think the carrier bearing was coming into direct contact with the driveshaft, and that's what was making the metal on metal grind when I accelerated, the u joints were broken in addition to it

I just wanted to make sure you had a good reason to replace everything. A lot of shops will push people to replace everything rather than rebuild the u-joints and replace the carrier bearing (and sometimes paying shop labor to replace the whole thing can be less also). Check salvage yards, a local member got a complete used drive line in the low 200's when he bent his.
