So I'm getting new tires mounted on mine this weekend, and I was wondering... Has anyone ever had any issues with the beadlock ring getting messed up during a dismount/mount of a tire? Since the ring is removable, would it be safe to remove them all before heading up to the tire shop? Or is bolting them back on at home later going to cause balance issues after they've already been balanced without them?

Just curious. After dropping $220+ on a single wheel brand new and it coming in today, it would be nice to know that it's not going to get gouged to hell in less than a week when I get a new tire installed on it, lol.

I had tires installed without rings. Then installed rings myself. Balancing was done before rings, but I haven't noticed anything. No vibes at highway speed or anything like that. I've had the truck up to 80 mph and I've got about a thousand miles on the installation. On a side not you might want to thread a tap of the proper size and thread count in each hole. I think I cross-threaded one or two screws. They were hard to get screws started.

I'll just remove the rings and have the tires mounted and put the rings back on myself when I get back home :D

If you want to be absolutely certain it won't be a problem either way, have the tires installed without rings. YOU install rings, and THEN have wheels balanced. Tire shop will have to use stick on wheel weights and you'll have to tell them in advance if they balance before you install rings.

I bought a fifth wheel to use as a spare. As soon as I got the wheel I excitedly put the ring on...big mistake. The guy that mounted and balanced the tire dented the inner barrel of the wheel and scratched up the trim ring. Thankfully they replaced the damaged wheel and bought a new one. I watched them the next time. Trim ring off, roadforce balance.

Glad they replaced your wheel, I would have been pissed!

Were you trim ring off for tire mounting only? Then installed trim ring before the roadforce balance?
