Hi guys, this is my first post. Its probably been answered before but do Bistein 5100's generate any lift on the 1st gens (03 ext cab)? From my understanding they do up to 1.75". Im just looking for a straight answer here and some pics would be awesome. Any other advice on the subject would be appreciated too. Im looking for a litle lift no more than 3inch. Im hoping I would be satisfied with the billys and 1.5" blocks in the back.

you read 2nd gen billies, the first gens are 0" 1" and 2.5" if you plan to use your stock coils you can put them on the 2.5" setting and get a leveling kit. the cheapest place to order them is downsouthmotorsports.com they are $319.99 free shipping that is a front and rear set of shocks. youll want to get the 5100's all around unless you dont plan to ever lift your rearend. then youll want to get the set with front 5100's and 5125's for the rear. or you can just buy the fronts. but its better to replace them all while your at it.

The fronts give lift by preloading the coils.
A better option would be to get longer coils & shocks like OME.

So the bilsteins are an acceptable 2.5" lift option? Would they be all I need to lift the front 2.5"? And rear blocks arent recommended for lift in the 1st gens? Im still really new to this sorry if I sound stupid guys.

with only 2.5" up front you wont want to lift the rear, it will put it at almost perfect level, maybe a little over level.

unless you like having the factory "rake" look

I had adj billies top setting with stock trd coils, it sat level with 2 1/4 full dakars, but then they sagged with the sliders so now it has 882s with ome shocks, but I still want more :D

    None yet
    My Skyjacker didn't.

Blocks add a lever to your axle, so they tweek the springs more.

I swear I got three inches with my Billies and 881's. Coils must have been more shagged than I thought. There was actually some corrosion where the coil(s) had been bottoming on itself.

here is straight forward what your gonna want to do.
Bilstein 5100's only- 2.5" upfront nothing in rear for only a level.
5100's with either OME "OR" Toytec/Eibach coils= 3" to 2 3/4" up front with either a 1.5" or 2" aal in rear, or a new lifting leaf pack. these are your options. unless your going to do a dropbracket lift.

2nd GEN BILSTEINS HAVE IRRELEVANT INFORMATION FOR THIS THREAD GUYS. THEY HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SETTINGS.

Not to thread jack, but you have Skyjacker AALs and they didn't stiffen up the ride?

I read an EMU rep recommend only the 881 for first gen unless series added weight.

yes, thats probably true, but you need to compensate about an 1" for after any of the coils settle. like everyone saying eibachs are too aggressive, but after they settle they are the same as the rest?

    IIRC...the 880, 881, and 882's are recommended for 1st gens.

Didn't know about the 880s. What is different between the 880s and 881s? Since I have 5100s already I'm looking for a spring that is softer, not too concerned if the lift is small, the 5100s can fix that.
