275/60/17 is actually smaller in diameter than a 265/65/17 and about the same weight (if not even a little less). While the slightly wider stance may cause a little more rolling resistance, I'm not sure why your mileage would have went down 2 mpg. And, your speedo should only be off by about 2% (actual speed 1.2 mph less when speedo at 60 mph). Are you sure you didn't mean 275/70/17?

You realize those rears are almost 1/2" taller than the fronts? I noticed you have 4x4. I'm no expert, but that might not be too good on your diff when running in 4-wheel drive.

Sure, I realize that; the mechanic said there's no inconvenience.
Moreover my use of the 4WD is restricted, only to go out of some deep mud.
My initial idea was to fit out the truck with 4 Cooper 275/70x17, but the front wheels might rub when turning the wheels.
    Have a nice day

I am finnally ready to replace my stock tires after 45k miles - looking at BF All Terrains. Can I replace my stock p245/75r16 tires with 17" tires and stock rims without a lift? Thanks for any help here!

I think it will be OK. Although it will be quite tight when you turn the front wheels, especially in off road driving.

Hi I'm a newb to the Tacoma World site, and as always am opening up with a question. I am looking at putting new wheels and tires on come spring, also going to get a Pro Comp level lift. I am thinking about going with 17x9" wheels and a 285/65/17 tire, I think this would look good, but was wondering would I have any rubbing issues with that wide of a tire and wheel with just the level lift? Also wondering I put the 160K Toyota ECP warranty and wondering if the lift will affect it.

    Thanks

KPT, Thanks for the knowledge you gave to us all here in this forum..We really appreciate your help. Just need some advise, Ok so I just purchased a set of Toyo Open Country AT II tires (285x70x17) and I was wondering if my wheel size/specs are fine. Planning on buying a set of KMC XD Spy (17X9) 6X5.5 OS: -12mm BS: 4.53"..I have a set of 1.5" wheel spacers on stand by just in case I'll need it. Right now my truck is in the shop and getting (Maxtrac spindles on) so I'll have 4" front and 2" rear lift. So my question is, will I still have any problems with tire clearance/turning radius/rubbing issues?. Thx again for your help!.

285/65/17 is a very peculiar size. Are you sure you weren't looking at 285/70/17?

And no modification voids your warranty. The dealership has to prove that the modification directly led to the failure of the part.

Thanks for the reply but the reason i was looking at 285/65 17's was they r pretty much the same radius as the 265/70 17 except they r wider looking at Yokohama's

Those wheels specs are good to go for the 285/70/17's and the spindles. Might have to remove the mud flaps but that would be it.
There are some folks on here running 285/60/18 with no lift, so I would expect that with the lift and the 285/65/17's that you'll be fine if you run wheels with 4.5" of BS.

Keith I'm looking to add rims and tires to my 07 DC sport with stock suspension. I want a 16" aftermarket rim, with a 265/75/16 tire. Do I need 4.5 BS on the rim? Will I rub at all?

    I'm considering Duratracks, FR Destinations......thanks

You'll want between 4.5 and 55.5 of BS. Possible minor rubbing on the flaps, but most folks have none.
