Just introducing myself. I recently picked up a 2013 silver streak mica access cab 4-cyl 4x4 base, after the frame rusted through on my '99 Tacoma.

Unfortunately, I just backed the tailgate of the new truck into a tree, so I'm in need of a replacement!! This was the stimulus to finally become a registered user here. Thanks to many for numerous helpful posts I have read in the past.

Thanks, man. I'll have it fixed soon, and I'm lucky I didn't damage the tail lights, side panels, or bumper!

By the way, Toyota bought back the '99 in September of 2012, due to a small rust hole in the frame (perforation). They gave me the 150% of KBB retail value, as others have reported, but the $1000 off a new truck is no longer being offered. During the two weeks required for the transaction, they rented me a Dodge 1500. Thought people might be interested in an update on the frame rust buy-backs.

Randy, great build. 3" of lift seems about perfect. Looks like you have plenty of opportunities to head offroad around you, too. Not so much the case in CT, so mine will remain stock for the foreseeable future!

I got impatient and ordered an aftermarket painted tailgate from breadmanjr on ebay (MBi Auto in MI). $429 shipped. It's supposed to be electro-coated steel, with one sealer coat, three base coats, and two clear coats of Matrix System products. I'll report back on how it looks. There was no way I could drop a grand or more to get one from the local stealer! Worst case, it'll work until I find a used original.
