Does anyone have Tuesday, March 5th off?

I'm thinking about running up to Bloody Basin Rd that day and exploring for some "hidden" Indian ruins/petroglyphs. The roads will be pretty easy and a couple of the spots require short easy hikes to get to. This is part of the Agua Fria National Monument. The weather's great, if you like this sort of thing come on out. Post up if you have questions or are interested.

Definitely prerunner friendly. Good excuse to get outta the city and drive on some dirt... as long as you don't mind me checking maps/gps all the time to try and find these sites ;)

Yeah lately I've been doing random days because of my oddball schedule, but I still figure I'll throw it out there just in case. Lookin forward to seeing a lot of your guys' rigs... someday.

i was out there in the late fall, my gf and i went to the old verde river sheep bridge. that trail is definitely prerunner friendly. i got stuck in some sand, but that was my fault.
it was pretty fun out there for sure.

Not sure, meet up in Buckeye about 7:30-8am? Could meet anyone else at 4Sons (I think it's still a 4Sons) on Carefree/I-17 if there is anybody else who can go.

I went out there in 09 and located some ruins and petroglyphs off the beaten path. Using my Google-Fu, some Google Earth and my topo program I'm hoping to reach two more sites this time. There's also an old mine up there.

Had a nice trip, thought I finally blew my less-than-100% right CV, but it turned out the rattling was from a loose heat shield over the CC. A couple "maybes" had to drop out but it was pretty much planned as a solo trip so no worries. A couple sections of trail turned out to be full blown 4-lo 4x4 which I guess kinda surprised me and added to the adrenaline/pucker factor.

I did get to three indigenous sites and the Brooklyn Mine complex area was quite extensive. Good times for sure

Hey man, I saw this thread and would be very interested in doing a trip like this. I work two weekends a month, but try to get out on the trail at least 1-2 weekends a month. I also have odd mondays and fridays off and will go out. Let me know.

Also saw your DV trip, looked great. I did Panamint Valley 2 years ago and loved it.

Thanks. It'll probably be awhile before I do the Agua Fria again, maybe next fall or winter. I do hope to do some sort of day trip in mid May/early June time, somewhere a little higher elevation, so I'll post up a thread if that happens.

Cool. I will post up any daytrips I get planned out. I was thinking about the cave creek/carefree portion of the great western trail that takes you to Kay Ruin.

Cool, might consider doing New River (east on tablemesa exit) and loop south into cave creek that way. Pretty nice.

My schedule is TIGHT right now, I'm currently at Huachuca and when I get home I'm running some trails at Big Bear Cali, and have a Elk Mtns Colorado trip for late July. Between those I have family trips, annual training, seminar in DC, etc... but still plan on squeezing a couple day trips when possible

Understand completely. My weekends get booked out fast since I only get 2 a month, but I will let you know if I get a plan together. That sounds like a nice little run. I haven't been offroad in that area yet. I've done a lot of Wickenburg, Harquahala, White tanks, and Saddle Mountain stuff so far.
