Bought this off ebay. Seller said it came from a 4cyl. I have no idea of how to tell. I do know it came from an automatic transmission by the automatic specific lights next to the engine temp.

I hooked it up to my truck, 2.7 manual, and the rpms were reading low, so I assume it came from a 6cyl. So I pulled it out and put mine back in.

Mileage unknown. I put it in, drove around block and realized the tach was off. Pulled it out and didn't even look at the odometer.

    $115 shipped.

    ABS sucks.
Not to defile your sale, but you might be able to change a jumper pack on the tachometer to switch it to the 4 cylinder. I'd hate to think that Toyota makes 2 different tachs for the same model...

I have no idea what you just said, but you have intrigued me. I search all around about adjusting it to the 4cyl, but can't find anything. What's a jumper pack?

also the odometers can be swapped out to ensure milage is the same. Provided the original odometer is working correctly.

I wasn't really worried about the odometer. I got the cluster for the tach, and got the 01+ for the white gauges to match my truck. Since the tach isn't compatible with my truck, I'm going to sell this one and wait to find a 4cyl cluster with tach.

    Bump.
Might be heading to Jackson, MS today from Pensacola, FL. Could drop off along the way to save some $$$ for the buyer.

Can you post pics of the back of the unit, maybe with covers removed if you can? I might be able to see something useful...

    New price of $105 shipped

Going to toss on ebay if no interest here. These are going for $200 on there, and unknown of what engine and trans they came from.

Yeah, you'll have to pull out the tach assembly from the cluster housing. I haven't had my cluster out of the truck yet, so I hadn't seen the back side until now. I'd have to investigate the circuit board attached to the the tach.

It's pretty simple. 10mm nut driver and a phillips screw driver I believe is all that's needed. Once you remove everything there are just the three plugs into the back of the cluster at the top.
