I've had interest to do this for quite some time.
but a google search failed to confirm my inquiry.

my primary confusion is the length of the cable housing and wire
that leads from the control to the throttle body.

In looking at muh '00 Tacoma...
I'd guess 5 ft on the cable housing...
and prolly 6 ft of wire.

But other write ups vary in what length was used
and I didn't find the magic article that details specifics
    regarding the Tacoma 5VZ.

    sooo...

what cable length did others use on their 5VZ Tacoma ?

I'd think you could make 5 or 6 foot work just fine. Really would depend on your routing t
    Of the cable I think.

thanks... I realize cable length can be adjusted.
was just looking for a completed example
so I wouldn't need buy longer lengths then necessary.
my local bicycle shop is asking $ 2.50/per ft (cable or sleeve)

guess I'll have to shop around online

I'll take pictures during my install.
this thread seems lacking of detail

I'm going to use the Sunrace SLM10 top load friction shifter.
but can't find a single left thumb lever. Only the right or pairs
    still looking

A thoughtful user here has offered to help me out with my
    cable/sleeve needs.

I'll thank him officially when I post completion pics (if he's ok with it)

edit: just found those single left side friction levers
two @ Amazon one for $ 10.20 shipped, another for $ 7.00 shipped
the key was wording the search (Sunrace MBT left friction shift lever) bingo

I couldn't decide... so I got one of each :p

I'm not even gana route it to the throttle body I'm going to put the twist out one mounted right of to the side of the parking brake lever and have it go straight to the top of the gas pedal where the wire connects to the lever it's a straight line from those 2 points
