    Anyone have ever try to swap the new Tacoma 2012+ /4runner steering wheel into their 05-11?

    Didn't found anything and i hate the look of my steering wheel (2006), it's the same as a sienna minivan!! yerk..

    I know some people have swapped Camry steering wheels in so I imagine it would work.

    To be honest the new steering wheels look like s*hit and cheap. I wish I could throw the kia steering wheel into my truck. Take a look at the kia steering wheels.

    Not liking the new interior in the new tacomas.

    Anyways I'm sure you can swap. As someone else said.. They've used camrys

    Lol I guess I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. Aside from being a little too bulky, it is a pretty solid steering wheel, and the leather/faux wrap or whatever it is, is comfortable. Only thing I don't like is the sharp junction where the silver trim meets the actual wheel. I am one of those people who drives with the left hand at 11 o'clock and my right hand hooked at the index finger right at the bottom right, so now my finger can't sit too comfortably in that gap anymore like it could in my dads 04.

    Otherwise besides color scheme and a few minute differences, 2005-13 interiors are vastly the same.

    Just did a marketing event for the Toyota lineup. The truck I was in was different as far as interior. Didn't like it one bit.
    Love the 05 fit and finish. The newer one has cheaper looking interior. But you guys have all the steering controls and back up camera. =( I like the steering wheel you have let me known if you are looking to sell.

    so went to the dealer today to pick up some touchup paint and spoke with a technician about the mod... he said it most likely will bolt right up.

    NOTE: I have a TRD Offroad, w/volume, channel sel, mode on left and Phone access, hangup/disconnect buttons on right.

    There are 2 torq bolts on the sides of the wheel (under access covers), these will loosen up, but NOT come all the way out. Now you can pop off the air bag.
    Next there is a 19mm nut.. This will remove the wheel
    But first make sure to disconnect the control(s) harness.

    The one thing the technician was unsure of was if the harness would snap right in or if there would be any lengthening of wires needed.

    Here are some part numbers that should work:
    45100-04270-BO --> Wheel assembly $1165.32 (List)
    45130-04121-BO --> Air Bag $966.59 (List)
    84250-04020-BO --> Controls/Switch $546.16 (List)
    TOTAL = $2861.51 (Includes $183.44 sales tax)

    OUCH!!! Hopefully there are ways to knock the price down. I was up for paying around $1000.00

    Oh, I did happen to view the wire diagram between the '11 and '13
    The '11 appears to connect on the left side of the wheel and has a bridge connection on the bottom of the control to reach the right side.
    The '13 appears to connect through the middle and Y's out to reach the left and right side.

    Any luck with this? My steering wheel leather is hurting plus I hate the 2010 steering wheel, feels like crap! I'm looking to do a Steering Wheel swap as well.

    A lot of those Chinese airbags don't contain a real airbag. Be weary of Chinese part with a Toyota logo

    I don't think they are bulky.

    Maybe you have small girl hands. :)

    And a lot of genuine Toyota (and Lexus) parts are made in China. In fact, the "upgrade" parts branded as TRD or F-Sport are more likely to be made in China. My Lexus IS F-Sport shift knob is made in China.

    Also on the new wheels beware.
    If you are used to resting your hands/thumbs on the spokes, the silver paint will wear off.

    They really should have gone with plasti-chrome or left it "rubbery"
