after about a week of cramming this into my schedule i finally finished my satoshi and color match. so what i did was i bought an after market grill (comes in 2 pieces) and went from there, i did all the usual steps except i used plactic instead of fiberglass. no for the priducts i used:

    color match part:
    rustoleum primer (for plastic)
krylon fusion (color = red pepper) paint
    krylon fusion krystal clear

    Satoshi part:
bondo body fill & spot putty
    rustoleum primer
    krylon flat black
    krylon satin clear

    mesh:

its stainless steel 1/16th thick with 1/4 inch perforated holes
    krylon flat black
    krylon satin clear coat

i left out all my sanding and painting steps but all in all i think it turned out awesome, i couldnt get duplicolor rad red to i used a very close colour by krylon. anyway what do you think?

by the way that white in the triangles is just dust

by the way i should note that it was my first time using body fill and whatnot to, if i were to do it a second time i would make sure not to lay the body fill so thick...cause you have to sand it haha. but yeah TW had me wanting to do a satoshi and color match for a while so i just said what the hell and gave it a try, turned out better the i figured

yeah i wetsanded the primer with 1500 grit lightly, and then did a few topcoats till i was satisfied, lets it dry for like a day and a half and broke out the 2000 grit. let that dry did one final top coat and hit it with the clear, did a wetsand on that and then a final clear and quit

yeah i was thinking expanded but i find this stuff is really sharp looking, other then that its really sturdy, it never shifts or bends

I bet if you wet sand the clear again with 2000 grit and compound right after it would look even better.
