Hi...Me again. Still considering the Tacoma. :)

    Here I've got a 2010 with 36,000 miles. Manual transmission. 4x4 drive.

    http://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...pp=50&feedSegId=28705&aff=national&listType=1

The price is $17,739. Kelly Blue Book suggests $17,350. However, my budget is firmly $15,000, but I can pay in cash. Shall I take a look and consider making an offer?

This one has had one owner and no accidents according to AutoCheck. It looks like there might be a little bruising at the front bumper, but that aside, it looks clean inside and out. The only thing that annoys me is the apparent missing ash tray plug thingy, but I'm also glad it has a standard AUX port.

I am pretty happy to find a Manual transmission as well as a 4x4 close to my price range.

Walk in with the cash and tell them it's all you have. They might make you a deal. Don't budge either, tell them that's it. It looks clean and as long as it runs good and has had good maintenance you shouldn't have issues

Don't offer them 15 if that's as high as you'll go. I'd low ball em at like 13 or 14 worst they can say is no. Work tour way up to 15. They wanted 15 for my truck I offered them 11 and got it for 12

On second thought you might want to check with CarFax also, they should give it to you for free. He changed the grille and there is bumper damage, I wouldn't put it past a front end collision or something along the lines.

in my experience many of the cars I've looked at online have given the CarFax for free, but not this one. There's no way I'm paying 50 bucks or whatever to see it.

This 'AutoCheck' thing says there's been no reported accidents. I guess it's like some no-name CarFax report.

    http://autocheck.dealer.com/cgi-bin/autocheck.cgi?dealerid=stcharlescdjcllc&vin=5TEPX4EN7AZ716529

I guess I'll email the dealer and ask for the Carfax.

I'd go in with the $15k in cash...tell then you aren't going to haggle, but that's all you have.

Deal or no Deal? Wouldn't be a horrible deal either...at $15k

edit: Okay, maybe not cash, but with proof of the ability to get the cash...

Check to see if the toyota decals are on the quarter panels (open the hood). Original panels should each have a decal.

It should be black, the single cabs don't come with any other color grill from the factory.

Might have shot myself in the foot, but I've never seen a base model come with a colored grill. Also it doesn't make sense to me if you buy lets say a white or green base model, that it would come with another color grill besides black texture or painted the same color of the truck. But I have been proved wrong before, I'm going to do some more research...

    Now I am confused. :p

I'll reply back when I get the Carfax. If there was an accident or they don't want to give me the Carfax for whatever reason, maybe we'll have a plausible answer.

EDIT: Dealer rep hit me back with a cookie cutter response

I asked him for the Carfax a second time..

    ?

    meh.

If you have the time I'd just walk in and ask for it. Ive never heard of AutoCheck

Truck looks good to me. Are you sure the grill isnt black, and its not just the way the light is hitting it? Cant see great off my phone.

the grill is the right grill, I have a '07 ,I replaced grill it came that color from Toyota, I have a left over Carfax, PM me the vin and I can check it for you, also be advised if the truck doesn't come with cruise control ,inter wipers, fogs ,it can get expensive to add those mods. Make them a offer of 15 w/ TTL, if they say no ,walk ,save more money I purchased a '07 DCLB 4x4 ,59k miles, w/ 100k extended warr. for 16K. They are out there just got to keep looking.
