Who has their frame undercoated? Did you do it when it was new? I have rust spot here and there on the frame is it to late to undercoat it?

I did mine when my truck was 3 years old and it has now been on there since the summer of 2011. I washed the underside (which sucked) and gave it a light scuff with a steel brush. I had a couple of spots that had a bit of rust, so I scuffed them a bit more and gave them a shot of rust paint.

I then sprayed with rocker guard spray. It's held up well, but I also haven't been under there since the fall.

A couple of suggestions if you plan on doing your own. Buy way too many cans of what you are spraying on there. I thought I had bought plenty but ran out and had to ride my bike to get more since I wasn't about to un-mask and re-mask my truck to drive to the store.

I also used full body disposable painters suit, which was pretty much black by the end. A dust mask, goggles, and gloves were also necessary.

I have no desire to trade in or sell my truck. But I maybe force to because of the frame rust. I wanted to keep my truck forever but I dont think the frame is going to last.

Por 15 is a great product, just hard to prep for, and if you get a drop of sweat in it the whole thing is ruined.

Anyone ever had a dealership apply a Xylan coating? Wondering how that works and if it is more effective than just doing all the hard work yourself...

Shouldn't a Toyota dealership check to see if there needs to be a frame replacement while they have it on their lot? Like, if I buy one from Toyota dealership, will I have to then turn around and take it back to a dealership to have them investigate the frame???

Looking to use Chassis Saver in clear on my new truck if/when I get it, on all components underneath (minus the obvious no-no's). Getting plugs if needed & plugging every hole except drain holes. How best to get it in the frame? Planning to get my body shop to do it. And Fluid Film every fall thereafter. Thoughts?
