Just thought I would throw this out mainly since I'm curious how everyone else is fairing after years and miles on their Tacoma's.

I reciently rolled 145,000 miles on my truck and within the last month I've had to have work done that I totally didn't expect.

    1. Drive shaft replacement due to carrier bearing play getting way more than it should have over the years. (known TSB)

    2. Axle bearings on both driver and passenger front end worn to the point of making lots of noise. Both had to be replaced. (No idea why these failed so soon)

    3. A/C solinoid for fresh/recirculate mixer replacement.

    4. Resister on A/C blower motor (fan only worked on high)

Other items that "failed" since 05.
    1. Overhead console temp display. (replaced by me with part from EBAY)

    2. High pressure line for power steering pump sprung leak.

Anything on your truck that you've had to replace that you didn't expect?

95k and nothing yet. . . . been keeping an eye on those front wheelbearings though

pass. front shock needs replacement, but i still sport it

at 100k im planning coolant, t-stat, belt and tensioner

110k will be gear lubes, and maybe plugs again (cant remember spark-plug interval).

mines been good to me so far. no leaks, no problems

Bought the truck used and it had 50k miles. at around 90k miles I had to replace both front wheel bearings, at 119k miles I replaced all four shocks/struts just to get a better smooth ride, the one's I removed were still good though. one of my tie-rod ends had a bad rubber boot seal so I replaced both tie rod ends with one's with Zerk valves on them. Other than that it's been normal interval oil/filters maintenance.

2005 Tacoma,166k changed A/C sensor three times ,changed blower motor,in the period of about 1.5 years then it stopped working, the wire plug looked burnt so i brushed it clean and then put dielectric grease and its been good for about 1.5 years so far, been hearing noise in the front end for some time, maybe i need to change the front bearings,is this a hard job to do?Other then regular maintenance that is all i have done, and thanks to gravel trucks three windshields and counting i'm sure.

~107,000 here and my main seal has started to leak as well as the left side axle seal. Pretty sure the front wheel bearings need replacing. I've got the URD throw-out bearing sitting in the garage waiting for me to get to that; trying to baby it and just do the whole clutch when it warms up. CV boots are going to need to be replaced before the wear through. Resistor on the blower motor (same as OP) and I've greased the blower motor as in one of the posts here. Re-greased the driver's side window channel after it basically quit working; did the passenger side preemptively. Sprayed undercoating on the frame where it was rusting. Cheap plastic tabs in the tailgate release have been replaced once already and need it again. Windshield rubber has been replaced twice due to the whistling. Every nut and bolt under the hood is rusted and there's lots of oxidation showing on the engine and components.

I've been seriously thinking about adding some sacrificial zincs to the frame. :(

What was the symptoms of this?
When I turn my a/c on rec, it has a fluctuating warm/ cold feel to it. When I take it off rec and have only fresh air blowing, it will freeze my hand.

    - Driver's front wheel bearing has gone bad twice

    - Drivers front lower ball joint (replaced because the boot was ripped )

    - Drivers front crash detection sensor (corroded)

EDIT: overhead compass/thermometer shut off a few days ago too. Soldered the resistor back on the board and it's all better.

I have about 107k and had to pull the trans due to it pouring fluid out right at the back of the engine and bell housing... Just dropped it off at the shop Friday, but am thinking its the front seal for the tork converter.
Will also be doing my rear main seal while the tranny is out, both front wheel bearings, 4 ball joints, carrier bearing, and what ever else I spot.

I don't think you had to change the whole driveshaft for a bad CB.

42k for me, drivers side cv axle due to the clamp breaking and falling off the boot, and the infamous 4x4 vibration taken care of by the stealership.
