I hope I put this in the correct place.

My son rear ended another car last weekend and these are theresults. My son is OK but the truck’s front end is not, so I am in the processof getting another from bumper. I do not know which way I should go(aftermarket or OEM). I just order and received the All Pro rear bumper andshould be getting it powder coated within a few days but I know I would have togo to 886 coils instead of using the 885x with I currently have. My main issueabout getting a front aftermarket bumper is the SHIPPING cost and the 885xcoils are less than a year old. Opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Clarify. Do you intend to get a front plate bumper to match your All-Pro rear? Cost of a bumper is quite a bit more than the cost of a set of springs.

Agree on that one... Let him learn his lesson by paying it himself and learning to be more cautious

Would you just get an OEM bumper (shipping cheap) or aftermarket (shipping expensive)?

My All-Pro 3-piece bumper came in two UPS boxes. Shipping was quite reasonable.

Agree with other guys - Get an aftermarket bumber and make your son pay for it and the shipping.

At that point you can just get new 886s or have your son pay for those as well.

If you don't want a ton of weight, the all pro base bumper might be the lightest (don't quote me on that though). Can you get an ARB local (no shipping?)

With only an aftermarket bumper, I would reconsider the needs for 886s. 886s would be overkill unless you also had a winch and or skid plates.

It wouldn't be a horrible ride, just stiff.

I have a relentless bumper on 885x springs. It didn't sag hardly at all. Once I put a winch and skids on, Im guessing Ill have to swap to 886s.

If your son has already hit two cars, just imagine the carnage he'll enact after having front and rear steel plate bumpers installed. That'll be incredible! Who's your closest fabricator? ATO? You could save on shipping and have something kickass!

If insurance company involved, the factory bumper is textured then painted, and can not be repaired, since repair would be smoothed out. Cash out and purchase the bumper you want.

Making him pay for it is not the problem, because he has enough savings to do so and that is his truck. Not being rude, but that is not the opinions I was looking for.

Now to the real issue at hand\/\/\/\/\/\/
After taking the front bumper off, here are the results underneath. My question is what will i need to reorder/replace before I order an aftermarket bumper? Very nice bumpers I have seen and I think an aftermarket bumper will be ordered. Dont know which one yet, but one I can get in a short time.

That OEM crush bar, which looks like it crushed pretty good, will come off if you get aftermarket bumper. So that won't need replacing. Is your support above that aluminum crush bar bent? May need a new one of those. Looks like it is since the passenger side headlight is knocked off. If the tabs on the headlight are broken you could probably find a used one oh here pretty cheap. Are the fenders or hood bent in any way?

Oh, and looks like you're gonna need new tires too. Those duratracs are starting to look like racing slicks ;)

I'm the process of getting headlights because they had some broken tabs. Definitely new tires and NOT going back to Duratracs. Didn't last very long and I need to see when I put them on. Anything else?

I'm sorry & don't want to sound like a dick, but you said your son rear ended another person. I'm thinking if you put on a front plate bumper, you will only lessen the damage to his vehicle & increase the damage to the next vehicle he rear ends. I'd invest the extra money in some driving lessons for him for his safety & the safety of others he shares the road with. I don't think a plate bumper will solve his problem. Again, I'm sorry if I sound like a dick.

From where I'm sitting, looks like all you need are headlights, grill and the pieces that go under the headlights. That cross bar above the aliminum crash bar doesn't have to be replaced if it's bent. Just bend it back the best you can as it doesn't interfere with an aftermarket bumper.

*edit* Keep your eye out in the BST section for at least the grill and headlights. They pop up often.

Might be why he rear ended the car to begin with
