Hey guys. One of my rigid industries lights just crapped out on me.. Thus justifying me buying a new light. I want a 40 inch spot/flood combo, dont really care what brand. The question is where to put it? And how to mount it? I'd like it to be across the top of my cab, preferrably mounted in the rain channels. Any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated, and pictures would be nice too. I know there are some pretty crafty folks on this site.. Just want to see any and all options i have before i throw down the money for a new light. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the off topic, but I thought Rigid had one of the best warranties? Looking to buy a bar from them, that's why I ask... Sorry

Good thread. During last weeks amateur search and rescue activities, I saw some great lighting setups. I'm looking forward to seeing some good ones! GLOP!

Rigid does have a great warranty.. But after this one quit working I sort of lost faith in their products. They're not worth the extra money IMO. Anyone have pictures of light bars installed across the top of the cab? I have seen some before but none were very detailed.. I'm curious how they are mounted. I want to be as un invasive as possible.

Think I'm going with the okled 40 inch dual row light bar. It puts out almost 20000 lumens, which is pretty friggin bright lol. Now all I need is some options on how to mount it.. I know there are some trucks on here with lights mounted across the top of the cab.. I'd like to see exactly how they are mounted. I'm open to all options so if anyone has any ideas of their own please feel free to let me know.

Yep. Its the only place a 40+ inch bar will go.. And i think it looks good. Im not too worried about fog or dust either. If it gets too bad ill just turn it off. Im more worried about the glare that it will throw off the hood. Hopefully its not too unbearable..

Now I am reconsidering my Rigid purchase, I don't want to drop $900 only to have it crap out on me. I would also be interested in seeing some other option as well.

Anteupp, the light that stopped working was a rigid 10 inch bar.. I'm gonna call them and see if they will replace it. Socalrodie, I like those setups! The problem is I have a regular cab. I was hoping to mount it with some tabs that bolt into the rain channel with a single bar across the top of the cab. Do you know if those racks are made for a regular cab?

40" Rigid. On a dub cab though. You may need to drill. The double cab is the only one with factory threaded holes in the gutter

If there are no places mount a factory roof rack on a regular cab you will need to either drill and secure your own mounting points or start looking at a rear headache bar. Like this:
