Thud, shudder, lurch… Why is this so difficult to try and figure out. I’ve been reading for the past 2 hours and why cant everyone have the same fix. CB drop, 180 flip, one piece driveshaft, shims, new transmission mount, lurch with AC on or off transmission service but my transmission doesn’t have a fill tube and isn’t serviceable.

Blah Blah Blah, I love my tacoma and I have owned 27 vehicles between me and my wife and the my 07 4x4 access cab is my favorite. This is ridiculous why I can’t get a common good fix for these issues.

I am going to attempt the cheap stuff:
    Grease the yoke
    Check the angles
    CB flip and/or spacers

Haha, I am quite pleased with anything that was close to or better than my Cummins and that cost half as much fill up. I am getting at least 18mpg.

Yes, your transmission fluid is serviceable.

If it is serviceable then when checking the fluid level seems to have a difference of opinion on how much and how to check the level. I have yet to change the T-case and tranny fluid. Front and rear diffs have new fluid.

It's not the fluid causing the issue anyway. Just letting you know it is definitely replaceable and checkable!

I have read the DIY sticky about changing the fluid and my concern is getting the correct amount due to a lot of people are saying the tranny’s are quite particular about the quantity. Also Toyota has the statement that you should only run the Toyota WS ATF fluid and not to intermix other ATFs. I understand that this is a typical manufacturer statement.

I understand that this will not fix these issues but I really don’t think that this a lifetime fluid.

Well I just did my 30K service changed out all the gear oil to synthetic plugs, oil, filters etc. and now I’m thinking there must be something wrong with my truck. The trans does not shift one bit different just as smooth as it did before, I have no drive shaft vibrations at any speed, my steering wheel does not shake, my cruise control stays within 2 mph, the spring U bolts were tight as were the drive shaft bolts, my abs works fine, I don’t have axle wrap, the windshield does not whistle, nothing leaks, I often drive on dry pavement in the winter in 4WD and haven’t broken anything, My 4 leaf spring pack seems to be ok with over a half a cord of green oak in the bed, I’m using 87 gas with alcohol towing my 3000# camper I can’t make it ping even going through Crawford notch, I get 20-21 mpg with a 6 spd, my release bearing does not chirp, my back breaks don’t squeal and the blower motor is very quiet. My Dunlops of death look like I’ll get another summer out of them. What am I doing wrong?

People tell me it is axle wrap when I stop hard then hit the gas and nothing happens then BAM it feels like I got rear ended. If it is thats a lot of drive shaft spinning while sitting in place. I don't think it is cause it only does this before it warms up.

Also sent it in for windshield kazoo twice and they sealed that whole front lip and it still does it, just not as often.

At least a new blower motor fixed my A/C chirp.

Apparently Rardingo has assumed that I was "butt" due to some comments in this topic, so to clarify I am not. This was as serious as it was a joke, some people need to simmer down a little.

I just greased up my slip joint and flipped the CB and I am please to say think and shutter are gone. Easy fix!!

Only mods for the future are 5100s and a undercover winch and the biggest tires I can fit, probably 285/70-16. Then I will probably get a new one in a few years.
