Essentially what I make this out to be, Toyota wants to test my truck, give me money, gas, a loaner, and do maintenance, all for the price of putting 150 miles on it??

What do you guys think? Have any of you got this in the mail? This sound too fishy?

I'd find the number to their R&D (not using the one in the letter) and go from there. I'd do it though if it was legit.

I doubt there's anything fishy about it. Up to you if their incentives are worth the inconvenience.

Easiest way to steal a vehicle? Ask for the keys.... Research them with the BBB and even Toyota Corp to confirm.

    I'd bet it's legit.

Wouldn't hurt to confirm with Toyota Corporate though.

I would first check with corporate for validity and then go for it. Take the viewpoint that from then on any problem you have they own. If a part wears out ahead of normal wear and tear, take it back and make them fix it as you didn't have that problem before they "tested" your vehicle. It is like handing you money and then an extended warranty just because they want to tinker. Just don't sign any waiver of liability. They break it ....They fix it.... For as long as you are willing to fight.

I agree with anything that would wear out with normal wear and tear. But anything that breaks before it's time, well if you haven't signed a waiver of liability they have left themselves open for a legal challenge if they don't fix it.

    It's probably legit.

They probably won't lend you a tacoma pickup during their testing though, just some generic camry or something.

I mean on average I put way more than 150 on my truck in a week, and although 100 bucks sounds good, I'm still researching it. I'm actually on hold with Toyota Motor Corp. right now! So we'll see. So far one of their reps hasn't heard of this at all, so I'm being directed to someone else. The only real incentive I'm seeing is the maintenance done.... but I just wanted to make sure it is current repairs needed before and after. So other than that, I could go without 100 bucks

Maybe I cant read but I don't see anything ab out them performing any maintance unless the vehicle needs repair during the time they have it.....

Do you get to choose the loaner? If so, I'd ask for a loaded Land Cruiser and plan a family trip, maybe go see the Grand Canyon.

Yeah so just got off the phone with Toyota Corp. and they've never heard of this, nor do they know of anyone that does know.

So then I called the 734 number for the Gardena location on the top right corner and it says the number is no longer in service.

And just hung up with the 734 number located on the bottom and it was Thomas A. Beierschmitt and although he described the process of what happens, he didn't really remember the name of the person to ask for at ATDS.... but it says it on this letter.

Still gonna research it but as for now, not sold on it at all

@Beavis0077 & @TrdSurgie: I figured say if my breaks were worn before taking them in but then in those 150 they were even more so worn then they would replace them? But more than likely they'd check the status of the vehicle before testing.
