been done before. Take it slow and easy get a brake controller and electric brakes on the trailer to help with stopping.

We have a 19 foot Wilderness that is 3,500 dry. Tows it just fine, but you won't win any speed contests.

The towing section has just about all the info you could possibly need to know:

You absolutely have to have a brake controller. I went with the Prodigy II and I'm very happy with it.

Even with the TSB springs and weight distribution hitch, the rear end sagged pretty bad. I put Firestone Ride Rite airbags on and it made all the difference. Normal ride when empty and aired down and no sag with 25-30 PSI of air for towing.

Be aware of how much gear, water, people, etc. you have. Pretty easy to get to max capacity quickly when you start adding up the weight on all the stuff and people. The Tacoma does a reasonable job of towing the trailer, but I think you made a good decision by not buying a heavier trailer. Have fun with it.
