I hate chrome so i sanded and painted it. The center chrime thing just popped off so i didnt have to paint the grill itself, just the surround part. Wetsanded 600 grit, primed, wetsand 600 grit, 3 coats black, 4 coats clear, 1200,1500,2000 wetsand, polish with 3m extra cut rubbing compound, 3m final glaze n done! All in all bout 5 hrs. Plastidipped the T emblem tho! I know the murdered out thing is kinda old but ida done the same with whatever color it is! My 4runner is a limited model with no chrome and i always liked the color matched look. Already added led dome/map/ license plate lights too. These pix are before wetsand and polish.

Sandpaper is whatever auto parts store has it in stock, paint is from paintscratch.com. I just make sure to soak the sandpaper in soapy water for a bit before i start and keep the painted piece wet! I did the hood and bumper on my old z as well with paint from them. With air gun and compressor tho. This was just rattle canned but same result. Patience and time works well!
Hood was black, bumper was blue and badly damaged.
