Leaf Spring Question

Here is a pic of my springs. Do I have 3 or 4? If it is 3, what is the small one on the bottom facing down? Thanks

Thats a 4. It comes standard with the 2013 sport model. The small one is considered your overload spring.

I see you have a '13 - have they started to squeak yet? I have about 1600 miles and I'm starting to hear it already.

 

put some grease between the leafs

 

You really don't want to do that because the grease will just attract dirt, the dirt will stick, the grease will dry out & remaining dirt will work its way between the leafs causing major squeaking

 

Good point, sorry, i just installed my Dakars and they had some in between them, so figured it would help him.

 

Oh, no worries, it'd work ok for a little bit but cleaning up & re greasing leafs everytime you offroad would def. get old haha

 

I have started to hear tbe squeak. I am not sure what I am going to do about it yet.

 

Use a spray product called Slip Plate - it's a graphite paint available from farm stores , ect..

Just take your squeaky springs into the dealer. They will replace the spacer pad with the TSB one under warranty and you will be on your way.

Mine haven't squeaked since I had the spacer replaced.
